One NBC afilliate this morning was reporting that "Explorer of the Seas was forced to return to port because of sick passengers..."
And those people call themselves journalists...
I e-mailed the TV station a link to the EOS bridge cam which showed it underway back to the Caribbean.

No doubt the crew did a fantastic clean-up on Sunday morning before the next round of passengers boarded!

The news media feels a need to get the story out first and fast.
They do not let details, like the facts, get in their way.

I know if I ever got sick on ship I would treat it myself, just like I do at home. Wouldn't go to the MD for fear of being stuck in my room for whole cruise. (rarely go to MD at home either) I always have meds along to take care of most things and I know how to prevent spreading any bugs by frequent hand washing and covering mouth with crook of elbow, just like I do at work. We don't have enough staff to stay home every time you have some kind of a virus......

That's the honest to goodness truth, unfortunately. Seems to me the media is more interested in being first than accurate, and dramatic versus informative. It's a shame.Originally Posted by Blizzard

I have to disagree - you can still spread the virus to others. Is it really fair for you to not stay in your cabin and risk getting someone else sick? Think about the person who carries it home with them to a deathly ill family member because you wouldn't stay in your cabin. Having been the unfortunate receipant of a selfish self centered cruiser who choose to stand in a long line with the virus and puek in a trashcan next to me, and no amount of handwashing could of prevented me from getting that virus as it was airborne and infected me to fast to get out of line. If you get sick on the ship, report it and stay away from the rest of the passengers and do your part to keep the crew well also. Do unto others as you would have them do onto you.Originally Posted by houch
