Explorer of the sea april 2009

Just booked a cruise for april 9 2010 to the caribbean sailing from new jersey. Was wondering if anyone else is booked? According to the royal caribbean site there are no more cabins left. I was wondering if anyone knows if this is during spring break? Easter is april 3 2010 and we sail the 9th for 9 days. When i booked the only available cabins were junior suites.

I see your a newbie here (well not new, but not many posts)... Welcome!

I have sailed on this ship twice, and another member (that I know of) just got back from the 5 day Bermuda cruise.

So, as I will not be going and wish I was... I can tell you to search around or ask away and we can tell you all that you need to know.

Personally - see the ice show!

CT. has school vacation that week and I am trying to book that cruise for a group of us. RC told me that most cabins are available but have not yet been released by RC, possibly it would be a theme cruise (ex. couples only, families only), but she wasn't sure. She told me to keep checking back. How did you book it yesterday??

I called directline cruises on sunday. On theiir website it gave only junior suites available. I booked it and received my paperwork today. When i checked back on their site there were no rooms available. This cruise is on the explorer of the seas. 9 nighter to eastern caribbean. April 9 2010.

I just talked to directline cruise and she checked with royal caribbean and said that the sale of rooms for that cruise have been closed. She said that directline cruise have a few left from the block of rooms they buy from the cruise line. But royal caribbean doesn't.

Yes, Explorer 9 night out of NJ on 4/9/2010..we're talking about the same cruise! Thank you for the information..I only joined this site because I saw your question when I googled trying to find information as to why I could not book a cabin on this cruise!! I did just call Royal Caribbean again, and they assured me that the cruise is NOT sold out, that most of the rooms have just not been released for sale..and the one that have been released ARE sold out. She says there are plenty of rooms!! As I said, we are from Connecticut and the entire state has school vacation that week..so many of us are trying to get on that cruise! Many thanks for the info!!

That is the cruise I went on in reverse.

Sale is probably not open to the public or something else - an answer your not going to get from a Customer Service Rep pretending to be a travel agent. I suggest you call your travel agent or keep checking back on their site.

The last two times I booked for this cruise were with not as much notice as this and there was enough cabins left...

Good luck on trying to get aboard!!

OH KK - - - HI to you!! Sorry I have not been around much - busy busy!

I did call my travel agent to see if she could secure a group of rooms..we need at least 8 cabins ..she will call. Thanks for all this info..it does seem odd to me that a cruise line would block available rooms..one would think their focus would be on selling them..strange, but I am new at this..only cruised 3 times.
