    Thumbs up Venice

    Hi my CLF.
As usual, I have been "out and about," this time Venice...again! I try hard to keep my destinations updated. I've made several trips to Venice.. each one delightful. I hope you will forgive me for just publishing the Venice website HERE. There is much information here and it is something I can't just blog individually about. I do not recommend a specific cruise line--as I like--and use them all. My forte are the destinations. Hope your readers can glean a lot of tips from this particular website of mine.
    Many thanks...
    Sunny

Look forward to looking through your information. I also enjoy Venice and am interested in how others tour it.

Looks like some good information, I will be taking a look as Venice is the final port on a TA I am doing. Will also look through for the other ports that I will be doing.

Do you have any information on the best ways to travel to and from Venice before and after cruise locally in Europe?

We've been to Venice a couple three times and it is a very beautiful, interesting, and wonderful place to visit.

We found the best and least expensive way to get there or leave there is by train. This gives us the opportunity to see other places. Plus, it's fairly expensive to fly into Venice as opposed to flying into larger airports. For example, there's a high speed train from Rome that is very nice. The train to Munich is an awesome trip through the Italian and Austrian Alps, but it's not high speed. Also, the train to/from Florence is high speed and no trip to Italy should bypass Florence. And if you have the time, I highly suggest visiting Sienna - what a lovely and interesting city.

Keep in mind that hotels and restaurants are expensive in Venice. We prefer to stay in a B&B away from the main tourist flow. But the closer to St. Mark's Square you get, the more expensive it becomes.
