OK, Now you're just getting me too excited about the Baltic in May. We scored an aft corner balcony! I was a little worried that the weather might be bad, but even if it is...I think we'll appreciate the covered portion!

In my humble opinion, after 2 different cruises to the Baltic in the mid-summer months, a balcony is wonderful and essential. There is so much dusky twilight time with 18+ hours of sunlight. There is nothing more fabulous that cruising the Stockholm Archipelago in the dusky hours at 11:00...especially on a Baltic Itinerary I highly recommend a Balcony.

We were 4 gals in one room and got a balcony cause we all smoke. In Sept the temps were in the 50's but our door was always open. The ship had the heat on, we had our control set as low as it would go but when the balcony door was closed and we weren't smoking the room was stuffy. Being from MN I like to sleep cool with the window open. Room was just too warm without the balcony open, we were glad we had it.
Also, getting up at 5 am with coffee delivered, we could go out on our balcony in pj's and see the sights. With the early tours there was no time to go up top and it was too cold up top anyway.
With 4 in the room the balcony was less expensive!
