Just in case anyone is interested, we have just posted the review of our recent Danube River cruise (Budapest to Prague) on the AMA Waterways Amalyra on our website www.thepreismans.com. It is very long, so much so that we had to do it in two parts. There are over 800 photos in the review. We do apologize to those people with slow Internet connectivity for putting in so many photos; but with so many beautiful churches and other lovely places on this trip, we couldn’t resist.
There are also links at the end of each part of the review to our SnapFish albums that have photos in a larger format. They have been put into four separate albums to provide for faster download.
This was our first European river cruise and we just loved it. If you have been on a Danube River cruise before, we hope that this review will bring back some fond memories. If you have never been on a river cruise, hopefully the review will show you what they are like. Enjoy!
Carol, as usual, you outdo yourself on your reviews. Beautiful beautiful pictures. Thank you so much
Hanna

Lee, our reviews are a joint effort between my husband and me. He takes a ridiculous number of pictures; 5,000 between us on this cruise with about 95% his. When we get home, he starts writing the review and I start going through the pictures. I delete some, straighten and crop others, etc. Then I proofread the review and add my comments while he pulls out the pics he wants to use and makes any adjustments. This process goes back and forth until we are satisfied with the commentary. Then while he inserts the pics in the review and puts the final polish on it, I start doing the photo albums. They allow us to show pics from the review in a larger format, plus show pics that we didn’t use in the review. It’s a long drawn out process, but it is a cooperative effort. I don’t want to sound like I’m bragging or anything like that, so please don’t misunderstand my intent. I would never be able to do such an in depth review on my own, and Mike deserves the major credit.

Hi Carol You and Mike outdid yourself. I so look forward to all your reviews, As I read, with all your perfect detail and pictures, I feel as though I am there with you. Thank you both for sharing with us
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
Most people walk into and out of your life . . . but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart

The hard work shows in your presentation. Photographs are very nice. It must be fun to work together and review your trips. Plus we all get to enjoy the adventures you and Mike have. Thanks again for sharing. Lee
Thanks everyone. I wasn't sure if I should post about a river cruise on this forum; but I know that when we were researching before we booked, we couldn't find very much info. We didn't know what to expect. We found lots of general stuff, but not a lot of details or pictures of the boats themselves. After we booked the Amalyra (14 mos. ahead!), we booked our Egypt trip which included the 4 nights on the Nile, but we knew that boat didn't belong to AMAWaterways.
Anyway, that's why I posted it. River cruising is so totally different from ocean cruising, as we discussed in the review. It is gaining in popularity and really worth trying. I'll never give up my oceans, but the rivers are a great addition to our choices. We will certainly do another.
Meanwhile, we are going to give Azamara a try in Feb. 2010 in SE Asia. So, stay tuned for Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and China.
