Sure, the TAs are much lower. You can get a balcony cabin on the Independence of the seas for $600,-. The prices are more mor less the same across the board.

Char, you got an excellent deal.

And a lot of the TAs go in the general direction of the path I like - England to Ireland to Canada to the US (Although Celebrity is really tempting me with the addition of Iceland!)

The North Atlantic route. Absolutely my preferred route also. Royal Caribbean does them with the Jewel of the seas, Princess does them even HAL.

We have never done the North Atlantic route. Those have more port calls and now we are mainly in it for the sea days. But.....Maybe someday.

Char, it is magnificent. The North Atlantic might be a bit choppier than the southern route but the stops are all amazing. And you do get several sea days in a row.

I don't mind choppy! I like the motion of the ocean and have never been seasick even in the roughest of seas.

I always try to get seasick but between bonine and ginger ale, I am fine.

Our last cruise was very choppy but by day 6 I was doing fine. Kept up the bonine just in case, though.

We booked a 3 day cruise on the NCL Jade. It sails on May 21st from Rotterdam --> Le Havre --> Guerbsey Island --> Southampton.
    We got a balcony for $550 w/insurance
    Flight for $1578 -$1000 voucher = $578
We plan on spending at least 2 nights in London so that will be another $300.
