This is so winderful... It has never entered my mind to think I might want to visit St Petersburg, but you are painting such beautiful pictures, that it makes me think again!
I, also, never gave much thought to going to those countries. Maybe someday, but not on the top of my list. Then several years ago Janice and her daughter took that cruise and then had a week in Sweden where they have relatives to visit. She really liked that cruise and would like to do it again.
Then Karen wanted to do it so we booked it. And a month later her 2 siisters wanted to join us. I figured this was better than not going on a cruise. And what a surprise I got!!!! I am so glad I did. With 10 cruises this one ranks on top, over Alaska, Panama Canal, and Hawaii.
It's funny cause we had cool, cloudy weather (I much prefer warm weather cruises) and so busy that we didn't do a lot of ship activities, (I always enjoy that on the Caribbean cruises) and only once got out on the upper outside decks, (I am usually up there all the time). Yet this is now my favorite. I really feel it's a must do!! So give it very serious thoughts. And don't wait till retirement as the tours can be strenuous.

There are well over 100 pictures in the St Petersburg category of our CLF Cruise Gallery... I saw that one, and posted a copy here, because it was ONE of the places you had mentioned!

Thank you for the advice. That wouldn't be a problem for me... still fairly young (and still working.) But, I am afraid we are limited by DH's limitations. He is well into his 70's and has pronounced problems in the stamina area, due to several health issues.
So, things like this, I must enjoy vicariously through photos and wonderful reports like yours, which I (and no doubt others in similar situations) truly appreciate. That's one of the nice things about CLF. It's a place I can do that to my heart's content.
Just thinking back on our Alaska cruise with Dad and his friend Art. Both were 87 and we were in our 50's. Alaska tours can be strenuous too. I was able to find bus tours for everything that involved no walking other than getting off the bus to see something. I think you could do that with the Baltic too. They are all labeled pretty well as to degree of activity, with Princess anyway.

I do not mean to break up any marriages and this is not meant to be mean. There is another option...you can always go with a girlfriend. That is what I do for almost all my cruises. Ron just doesn't like to travel, not up for the tours with all the people nor does he like the long travel days. And many of my friends husbands feel the same. I am fortunate he doesn't mind that I go, leaving him at home. He enjoys being with the cats and reading whenever he wants to.
This is just another option to consider.

I know a lot of people do that, and I would have considered it at one point , but not nowadays. A weekend I will do, but not more than that.
I would be uncomfortable being a half a world away from him shoud something happen with him. He even goes with me when I travel for business. He pretty much needs a some light management..... not constantly, but if I'm TOO far away for TOO long, he doesn't handle things well.
Oops, I didn't know it was that kind of situation. If I did I wouldn't have suggested going with the girls. If Ron needed me like that I would feel like you do.
Are you and he able to cruise at all? Where do you travel for business and what do you do? Sounds like you two have mini vacations. Sure can make a business more fun!
