Hi Terry - Hi Susan,

I don't believe you two, never even crossed my mind to take those sorts of photos - they certainly don't make them like that any more!!!! Malc had our camera so I don't suppose that statue had much of a pull for him!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone would like, I can post my 'Baltics - DIY' review on the boards, just tell me the appropriate place, I assume it is under cruise reviews - I don't want to start off on the wrong foot and upset anyone.

Our favourite place (after St Petersburg) was Stockholm with Warnemunde 3rd. A lot of people liked Tallin, perhaps because I had read so much hype about Tallin from the CC boards I was expecting too much. We do live in the UK and we can walk around old towns with beautiful churches/cathedrals, York, Bath, Lincoln etc.., so perhaps this may be part of the reason we thought it was really nice but not a highlight of the trip for us.

Whichever Baltic ports you visit, I am sure you will enjoy every minute of your Northern Europe cruise

Lyn

Gdansk was a surprise for me. I had imagined a grey, Soviet-style industrial city. And was absolutely delighted with what we found. I posted a narrative about the shore excursion under the Cruise Destinations and Excursions, Other forum. There is also a link to photos.

In addition, I have completed and posted the Helsinki and Stockholm excursions and am working on St. Petersburg and hope to have that up tomorrow.

The absolute HIGHLIGHT of our Baltic trip was the day trip to Moscow. St Petersburg was gorgeous, the monuments and palaces...they were all wonderful. But Moscow was one of those places that actually made me go 'wow' and gave me a different outlook on the world and our place in history.

We went to the Kremlin, saw Red Square, St Basil's, and toured the KGB Museum while in Moscow. Someday I might forget which beautiful statue I saw at which palace in Europe...but I will never forget every single thing I saw in Moscow.

Speaking of statues in palaces, I can't remember if I showed you this one already. I think it's one of the funniest pictures I took...it's DH (who just HAD to wear that cowboy hat, probably because I asked him not to) going up the stairs at Peterhoff in St Petersburg.

Please post it Lyn! Terry has already done hers and I am still working on mine (doing the excursions first).

Yes, I think cruise reviews would probably be the best place for it!
