I am a little depressed. We just canceled our Solstice 12/14 cruise. Since it didn't come down in price from what we booked at when it was the maiden voyage (day bookings opened for Captain's club members), we just couldn't justify paying a premium price for what is now a non-premium cruise. So unless a fantastic deal comes up we have to wait over 400 days for our next cruise. This is the first cruise that we have cancelled.
Since we are retired, hopefully something will come up on the exciting deals before the Equinox - and the airfare won't wipe out the savings on the cruise.
Oh well, since the cruise is now cancelled we are planning on visiting our grandkids in Florida and Texas a little more. (May wait to visit the Houston grandkids until all is cleaned up from the hurricane.)

Karen, how disappointing for you! We're on the 12/7 sailing. If the prices are still good, we'd love to have you join us. I just couldn't wait that long to see what the Solstice class ships were going to be like.
As the nights draw in (we put our clocks back at the weekend) and the chill of the Autumn nights sets in I thought I'd bring this one back to the top again to look forward to this warm Transatlantic.
Sharon, I hope you are having a grand trip on your....grand trip and all others set for this cruise are well. It's been exciting looking at the new photos of Solstice and I can't wait for Next November on this new ship

Yes, it's even raining in Northern California. I'll be spending the weekend curled up with Hubble in front of the fireplace, dreaming about a year from now!

We put our clocks back this weekend, Phil, which will give me an extra hour on Sunday for packing for our IOS ta. Looks like we might be having rain on Tuesday for our arrival in London but don't plan to let it slow us down.
We get to spend the weekend with g'kids and g'puppy so it will go fast.
Those with verandah cabins - 1A's to 2C's (non aft cabins) - have you checked out your cabin category lately? Due to the lifeboat and tender placement, Celebrity recently reclassified a bunch of Solstice and Equinox 2C's to a category 07 (balcony with obstructed view) as well as a couple of 1A's to 2C's.
Some cabins went up a category.
It looks like the deck plans on Celebrity's website now show the new categories.

Well, we are actually feeling good about having cancelled our 12/7 Solstice cruise. We originally booked a 1A and with the cabin category changes, the cabin that we had booked for that Sostice cruise is now a category 2C.
So I guess things do work out in the end. Instead of the 12/14 cruise, hubby and I are going to Disney for 4-5 days that week, heading down to Ft. Myers to see our granddaughter in her Christmas show, and then going back up to Disney with them the next day for 3 days, and then back to Ft. Myers for Christmas.
