Doesn't hurt my feelings. Would rather get the 2nd one off the assembly line anyway -- let 'em work out the bugs on the prototype

In a sense, we get the best of both situations -- the Solstice will no doubt help them with any design kinks they had on the Equinox, and the Equinox will have had the advantage of the Med shakedown cruise before we board. Should be in great shape for our trip.

The grass should be nicely bedded in by then too, so that I can practice my chipping. The NSPCG (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Greens) has been warned

I hope you are all well and have been enjoying the pictures of Solstice post float-out. I certainly have

Hey Phil!

I have to be honest...while I like seeing the design, I'll prefer pix of our ship when it starts to take a little more shape than what looks like a bunch of cargo containers stacked on a barge....

Andrew, not sure if you've seen this, but I did a time lapse movie of the building of Solstice here:

Solstice timelapse pictures, photos, and videos, from friends & fun on webshots

I'm saving the Meyer Werft images of Equinox and doing another and hope I catch a bit more as I missed some of Solstice.

Thanks, Phil...I'll check it out at home. It's a pretty ship, just jealous that it's not the one I'll be sailing on...

Now, have a hot toddy and go to bed! Must be late there!

Yes Garry. I'm saving the weekly images of Equinox. Hopefully I'll get it a bit more complete than Solstice.

Phil, that's wonderful! And I didn't even need any popcorn to watch it!!
Hi Everyone ---just got back from Tenerife a few days ago (had work to do on the house, since you are all planning to come visit in about 15 months), and now we are busy getting ready for our BIG trip. We fly to Anchorage on the 9th of Sept., then have a rental RV for 8 days before getting on the Diamond Princess in Whittier. We end up in Bangkok on Oct. 22, and fly back to Germany on the 29th. The longest cruise (32 days) that we've ever done.

We found out last week that we were picked for the Denali Road Lottery. A few months ago I didn't even know that such a thing existed. Since we expected our chances to be about 0% we continued with our plans. MISTAKE. Now we have to panic about having a rental vehicle into the middle of all the wildlife. AND, only vehicles up to 22' are allowed to drive the full distance of the park. What did we rent -- a 25'. We're going to have a great time, irregardless of how far we drive.

Hi Sharon. Wow, that sounds a wonderful trip away and very varied. Guess it could be quite cool up in Alaska and steamy hot in the Far East. Good luck getting all that gear in your suitcase Drop in on your trip if you can and let us know how it is going. Denali is on my to do list for sure.

Sharon, what a wonderful trip you have planned! I hope you hit the fall colors in Denali. We did a cruise-tour there a couple of years ago in September and the foliage was breathtaking. I hope you have a wonderful time. Take lots of pictures!

Garry

Here are a couple of pictures from Denali.
