You probably won't be needing those until at least the Canary Islands. Average temperatures in the warmest spot we'll likely see on the continent is Cartagena. Truth to tell, I would prefer to travel earlier as we did last year, but it really messes with Charline's wedding cake "season".
Here's what I show for all of the locations for November -- understanding that we'll be at the first ports pretty early in the month, which will help a little in the temperature department. You could probably add 5 degrees best case. Avg low, avg high and avg inches of rain for the month of November:
Good Question Susie - I am really mixed up about what to bring too. I have some bathing suits set aside in hopes of using them on some of the seas days, but I might be waaayy off base on that idea, how long does it really take after leaving the Canaries to get to some tropical-ish waters? It seems like a two season cruise to me and I think and I am just out of my element on this one.

Equinox weather in each port during 2008 season
Nov. 5 – Rome - 69º and 52º with a 30% chance of showers
Nov. 6 – Provence (Marcelles), France - 59º and 44º with light rain (60%)
Nov. 7 – Barcelona, Spain - 61º and 46º with fair skies
Nov. 8 – Palma De Mallorca, Spain - 66º and 53º with fair skies
Nov. 9 – Cartagena, Spain - 66º and 48º with fair skies
Nov. 10 – At sea
Nov. 11 – Lanzarote, Canary Islands - 73º and 65º with partly cloudy skies
Nov. 12 – Tenerife, Canary Islands - 75º and 68º with fair skies
Nov. 13 – 18 – At sea
Nov. 19 – Ft. Lauderdale – mid-70s during this travel day
Of course every year is different so these temperatures may not apply.

Thanks for all the information, Garry and Chris... and Cheryl, don't forget about the solarium pool... looks wonderful! Celebrity Cruises Solstice Class
Well, then, to be safe, I will throw in a pair or two of shorts, several bathing suits for the Solarium pool, and then will figure out the rest later. I may be very grateful for the onboard laundry before we are done!
Almost done cleaning the china, crystal and other deep cleaning that I like to do before Thanksgiving, but since we will get back so close to it, I figured that I should do it now... and besides, this way my mother will be impressed!

Darn, Susie! I had forgotten about that stuff. I have silver that needs polishing and really need to get this done before we leave. Kirk (my son) will be arriving the Saturday after we get home on Thursday. I don't think I want to be doing that then!
We had the house power washed Monday. Windows were all done yesterday, and I have the carpets scheduled for as soon as we return. Drapes have already been done. So we are getting there too.
The one good thing about all this clothing confusion is that I have been able to clean out two closets and bag up items for the homeless.
Since you're a 'local', I wondered if you had ever visited the "Pyramids of Guimar" site. Looks like someone has invested a great deal of time in putting together a visitor center, etc., but I've heard that excavations have pretty definitively dated the whole thing at no older than sometime in the 1800's.
While it's hard to consider any of the even close to "ancient", the method of construction is certainly a lot of overkill for a bunch of farmers getting rocks out of the way. It sounds like both pf the main camps are likely wrong on this one based upon the evidence.
Any personal opinions?
Sorry I missed answering this yesterday -- just didn't stop in!
Hugo and I have been to the Pyramids at Güimar (one of those things that you do with visitors if they are on the island for more than just a couple of days), and they really are worth a visit (including the "new build" version of the Kontiki and much interesting history of Thor Heyerdahl). That said, I am NOT sure if the site is interesting enough to spend one's only day on Tenerife visiting it unless excavations and archeology is your passion. It is not far from the cruise port (southeast of Santa Cruz), but there may be some traffic and "bottle-necks" on the Autopista leading to Güimar, as it's on the way to the south Airport. If you do decide to go, remember to take along your AAA membership card -- presuming you can get the same entrance fee discount we get there with our ADAC (German Auto Club) card.

Update: 1/2 of the walk-in closet in the guest bedroom has been cleared in anticipation of the beginning of the idea of thinking about making a decision about what we'll pack. I guess that's stage #1. Where are you on the spare bedroom on your end?
What spare bedroom? Which extra closet?? I'm afraid we downsized way too much when we sold our house and moved into an apartment! Now, on Tenerife, we have more room than we need -- anyone looking to buy a house in the Canaries?

From personal experience, take a few things for "hot." In 2006, we went about a month later and had several hot days. I only had one pair of shorts and they got a workout. This time, two shorts, a jean skirt, and some 3/4 sleeve tees. Also a swim suit. I'm "prepared" ala the Girl Scouts.
p.s. It was hot in Barcelona the day after Thanksgiving. Got a sunburn.

I think I posted this on the other thread and Bob has added it to his useful links, but this was the average sea temperature for November for the period 1971-2000 to give an idea how warm it could be on our sea days. Once we leave Tenerife the sea will be 75°+ and should feel very warm if we have some sun. I looked at the most recent sea surface temperature readings and they are higher than average, so it could well be warmer still.

Thanks, Phil! I may pack three pairs of shorts if I have room; I will hope for warm, sunny skies, because by the time we get home, it will be pretty chilly here... not that it isn't already! We will probably have our first hard freeze this weekend... too darn early!
