Chris, I had surgery on my right hand for that about 3 years ago. Now I need the same surgery on my left hand. So far I'm doing well with shots, but don't know how much longer that will last. I need another injection now and will probably make an appointment with my doctor in the next few weeks to see about it. Good luck with your limited mobility.

Dave, we only have plans in Tenerife and Barcelona--haven't even started looking at the other ports yet. I guess it's time to start thinking about them!

Garry - Did you and Bob decide not to do the Camels in Lanzarote?

Cheryl,
It must be the heat here in Las Vegas.

I KNOW I told Garry that I booked it (it was really her idea!). We are on the Fire Mountain & Camel
ride (against my better judgment) in Lanzarote and the 4x4 in Tenerife.

She can talk me into anything. She even talked me into marrying her. It took one word. "Yes"

I guess I should have said we have plans in Canary Islands! Of course we're going on the camel ride! How could I forget that? I'm really looking forward to it.

Bob means I can talk him into most things but not all. I doubt if I'll ever get him out on the observation deck of the Sears Tower in Chicago.

Had the cortisone shot back in late February. It worked well for a month or so, but then everything just came back only worse. They say if the first shot doesn't calm things down enough for the healing to take place, odds are REALLY slim that more will get the job done, and it's time to get out the scalpel.

Was it your thumb or one of your fingers? I hear the latter can be an issue, too.

Cheryl, we're really looking forward to seeing you and Ed too!

Chris, so far I've only had the problem in my thumbs. I didn't have cortisone shots in my right thumb--just the surgery. I really don't want to have to go through that again so am hopeful I can keep having the shots in the left one.

DH had the trigger thumb, too. Woke up one morning asking me if I heard all the noise from his thumb. Needless to say, I thought he was on something. Turned out I was wrong. He had it fixed at the same time as the carpal tunnel on the same hand. However, he was typing that evening.

I image that a trigger FINGER would be a little more painful, but I don't know.

Garry, Bob, Joanie and George - safe trip home.

Bobbie

Might as well get it all done at once. Typing is a pain with this giant thumb sticking out. They splinted it to immobilize it for about a week. I'm allowed to take it off to shower now (much easier than trash bags!), but they want it on for a while so I can't do anything silly with it. While he was in there, he did some extra work as well, but I can't recall the name of the part he was fiddling with. The original problem had evidently left quite a lump on some tendon or another. No doubt I'd aggravated it further doing some rock climbing the week before, but I figured that if it was going to be my last opportunity for another 6 weeks...

Just realized my photo was mucking up the screen width. Reduced.
