And who volunteers to be our maid Marion for the cruise, complete with the requisite cuteness factor? Um... don't tell anybody I said that...
Hi Garry, I've ridden a camel before, and an elephant too. Think I'll give the camel a break and take a pass this time.
Susan, I've been researching ways to ship our luggage. UPS will pick up our suitcases at our hotel in Venice and deliver to our hotel in Rome for just under 40 Euros each. I think that's going to be my plan. It looks like the least hassle and cost. Plus I can use my UPS account/discount and have them bill me. Think I'll explore FedEx ground too. The side benefit is that we'll have time in Rome to fuss, just in case it doesn't arrive as scheduled.

Cheryl, it looks like you're going to have company for the camel rides. Bob and I have decided to book this tour too. Is anyone else going to join us?

Weeellll... I wouldn't have thought so, but I was mentioning this thread to Charline, and she now claims she's game for a camel ride. 'Bout the last thing I would have expected, but that's what shore excursions are for, right? Finding out what your mate will REALLY do on a vacation?
The folks we'll be traveling with haven't checked in yet (they've been in Orlando for a week) but I'll see if they're interested, too. We're all supposed to sit down over the list this coming weekend.
Now come on, all of you -- contrary to what Suzanne has been telling everybody -- there really are some good red wines from the islands, and especially from Tenerife. Not quite turpentine, but -- according to DH, who really enjoys a good Merlot or equivalent -- nice and dry. (Unfortunately, we just drove around 400 miles to get home from Munich this afternoon, so DH is sleeping, but I will ask him for some suggestions .. and maybe we can smuggle a couple of bottles aboard on Nov. 12th).
