If you are not planning on going on the 5th, then you might look at the hotel page for Civitavecchia and see who else is checking in on the 3rd. I don't know if you can even lurk on the DS to see who is posting, but if you find someone you think might have a similar schedule, let me know and I'll e-mail them (if they ever sent me anything for the website) and give them your e-mail address.
None of the organizers mention the company names, but you could e-mail them to find out who they used telling them you are looking for a good source for 11/3.
I doubt is there would be time to go to the Sagrada Familia if you take our tour out and about. We went there twice and agree, it isn't just "another old church". Actuall, it isn't that old and they aren't finished yet.
The day this cruised opened up, we booked 1208 with Celebrity. Then we decided to change because we wanted to share a balcony with UK Phil. Couldn't use that cabin so we moved to 6312.
I'm looking really carefully at the photo shot you use of the aft of the ship, and it's clear that there are some definite differences back there. Hadn't noted that before.
Looking at all of the SV's and C1's aft verandas, from port to starboard, from the 6000's to the 12/1400's, if you label the verandas as Standard, Wide, and Xtrawide, you'd have
S W S W X S W S
across each of the decks.
The wide looks to be just about 25% wider than a standard, and the extra wide looks to be about 50% wider than the standard.
Are the cabins of significantly different widths as well???
What's strange is that Celebrity's plan doesn't show those +50% extra wides as H.C. cabins as they would be on a Millennium class ship ... at least not on their web site deck plan.
What all do you know about all this?
Anyway, I see what you mean about 1208 being one of the wider ones.
Hello!!!! I hear you. It's time to get this thread up and running again! I'm ready!

Say, navigator type lady -- how do I dispense or modify my REALLY old countdown clock? It's still showing the '08 Connie T/A, and I don't spot the place to tweak that anywhere in the User CP area. Navigate me, please!

Chris, at the moment you can't do anything. We're all stuck in la-la land with our countdown clocks. We are going to have a complete overhall soon (don't have the date yet), but once that's done, we'll have new features and be able to deal with our countdown clocks. We also can't type in colors unless we're in edit mode. Strange.
Nice to see some activity here. Now all we have to do is book air.....waiting to be able to book RT with miles. Probably going to do Connie's spring TA to Hamburg and fly back from Frankfurt. It would be nice of X could give me some idea if they are going to do transfers to Frankfurt or not. When I called, I was just told the same old same old....It's too early.
Really looking forward to this cruise.
Say, Bob, have you heard from UK Phil? He's been kinda quiet. I know his Mum wasn't doing too well.
Good luck on getting FF flights for November at this late date. What I have done in the past was call Delta and book the outbound with an open return. The last time I tried that (about 2 years ago), they let me do it, but I think they charged me a change fee when I finally booked the return.
We have our air for this one but plan on two TAs next year. I will try the same thing (book the outbound (in this case Europe to the US) about June and the return about October. We have chosen our WB TA. The Jewel of the Seas September 4th. It has a great itinerary with 6 sea days, but no more than 2 in a row. Perfect combination of quite a few, but not jamming all the ports up together or having 6-7 sea days at one time.
We looked at the EB on the Constellation and liked it OK, but not the ending port. I really want to end up in the UK where the flight will be easier to find (or afford if we have to buy coach and use FF to upgrade). The Jewel goes to Harwich in May and we wouldn’t mind that, and the only other RCL/Celebrity ships going to the UK are the monsters and I don’t know if we want to sail on them. But we can be bought and if the price is right, we may do that. But the likely outcome is that we’ll be on the Jewel OTS twice and that’s not a bad scenario at all.
I’m really ticked off at Celebrity for how they priced the Connie Arctic Circle cruise. I had quite a few people interested but the price is outrageous and is too much even for us. The cost of that cruise alone without air will pay for both TAs plus about half of the air.
We had an e-mail from him recently about the Equinox. I think he is OK but still spending a lot of his time on his Mum.

No kidding. $3850pp for 12 nights for a CC cabin? That's a bunch of dough.
That sounds right. Here is a picture Garry took when we sailed on the Solstice in December. The vertical row that contains
2152/1674/1206.... has the largest of the CC/SV cabins. You can work off of that. The cabins (except for the sky suites are the same. It has something to do with crew work/storage spaces on each deck.
Chris, the cabins are all the same size. They alternate on furniture placement and wall curve, but that's all.
Garry
Interesting. I wonder why they made the verandas in such widely different sizes? Must be that magic space between cabins that Bob was thinking might exist.
Whatever. We've got nice one lined up now, and our friends wound up on SV #8344, so they've got one that's 50% wider than normal. Guess where we'll hold the party!?
Thanks for the heads up on the Jewel in May 2010, Bob. Never been on RCI, but the Jewel looks very nice. Not one of those resorts for everyone on the high seas. I emailed our trusty TA to get some rates. I wouldn't mind the TA (except since when does it take 2 days to get to Bermuda? Are they using oars?), but Robin wants to go to Amsterdam. I'm not thrilled about Hamburg, but I also don't have to stay there, although I understand that there is a new Maritime Museum which would interest Robin.
We'll have to see what happens when we book the miles. Robin will be a !K with UAL then, so maybe that will help.
Nice to see activity on here again. I guess that means we're on for Nov. 5. I'm ready.
