Chuck, Nicki, Terry, Terri, Andrew and all it's exciting to see so many posting here now and I just can't wait for this cruise. New ship, new ports and old friends (whether or not I've met you yet!).

Garry, I don't like the sound of "dry"

I think it depends on what you want as a dining experience. If you want a big table, and a lot of your favorite foods, I'm sure it would be limiting...just wondering, though, as I like the qaulity of the aqua spa cafe food A LOT if I'd actually be happier with the food and the quiet ambience...
Time will tell...when Solstice is reviewed...

Chuck, I'm with you and the same thought occurred. I must say that part of the enjoyment for me on a cruise is the large dining room with the option to spend an evening or two in the Speciality Restaurant for a more intimate atmosphere. We have had so much fun in the main dining room. Blu every night wouldn't suit me at all. Wonder if you could opt out?

My brother is sailing on Solstice in December but we should have some info b4 then. I honestly feel that Celebrity will be trying several things to see what works. Lots of us love traditional dining but flexibility in times and partners is pretty nice too. Phil, you and Helen as well as Susan and Ed had dinner at our table which we all really enjoyed.
When we sail mercury next month we want to spend as much time with our daughter, grandson, and the "little Norwegian girl" as possible. We're going to take advantage of the casual table service in the buffet area since neither early nor late works.
I really see a move to open seating? Princess has been doing their "anytime" dining for several years now and it offers the best of both. You can request the same table same time same staff same dinner partners for the entire cruise.
