Terri, Terry, Chuck, Garry, Phil & Sue, I'm so happy this group is shaping up into another wonderful TA!
It's way to early to think about hotels, but I suspect we will try and go four or five days ahead to spend time in Rome. There's a couple of great places that I'm sure we will try and re-book. :-) It's been 18 years since we were there last, and at this time of year, it will be perfect: most of the tourists will have evacuated, and the temperatures perfect for walking.
Terri, I'm with you and Garry: I could get on a ship and have it sail in circles in a small lake and be happy for weeks on end. I just love being pampered and meeting people.
I just found all the Europe and our cruise on the Celebrity web site. The prices are UNbelievable, like very, very high. This cruise in comparison is a steal. There are also some screwy prices on our cruise as well. The ocean views are 40 dollars p/p less than veranda cabins?? etc.
My brother is booked on the New Year cruise on Solstice. His price is about 700 more for the same cabin we have AND the cruise is 7 days.
I LOVE IT........Garry, you got the ball rolling, thanks.
You're right Chuck. This is going to be a great cruise. Bob and I leave for a month in less than 3 weeks now and all I can think about is the Equinox and how many of our friends will be going. I can't seem to refocus my mind!
Oh, by the way, we'll be in Rome for 4 days after our cruise so we'll talk to our favorite guide (Remo) about what/where/when/and how! We're also going to be staying at his B&B so we'll be thinking and plotting.
Garry - I'm so glad you posted about this cruise on the owls thread. I wouldn't have known about it otherwise. I never even opened the email from Celebrity about it until I read your post. I would have hated to miss out on this one so I thank you for letting us know about it. I never thought I'd find as good a deal as we got on the 2007 Connie TA but I think this may beat it!
Interesting, the roll call on the other board is really busy. There has been so much talk about how far away the cruise is. Would you believe the 2006 Summit Hawaii cruise was almost the same, that we booked 19 months out. Garry started the roll call for that one.
Later today I'm going to find and take a look at the Connie TA.
Garry, will be nice actually being there when you do your Rome research.
I'm here! We're booked in a C2--interesting that they have two levels of concierge. Location seemed to be the only difference. We may, if it's not too much more, consider the aqua spa cabins...the idea of healthy food in a smaller restaurant is appealing, but I really want to wait for some reviews first. The way I figure it, we can always book the specialty restaurants when we want a calorie fest, but that this might give us a fighting chance at staving off the weight gain. Anyone know if Blu is single seating?

Final Cunard QE2 Crossing! in
It's over.....too soon
Andrew, one thing to keep in mind if you decide to book in the aqua spa category is you can only have dinner companions from that category to eat in Blu. I haven't heard anything about dining times in that restaurant.

It's good to see you here!

Garry - That's exactly why I didn't book the aqua spa cabin. I knew my choices for dinner companions would be limited so I went with concierge.
