Hope everyone had a safe journey home -- and that none of our Equinauts were among those whom we spotted falling down the gangway during disembarkation. The gangway on the left was extremely steep and appeared to be very slippery. From our balcony we - unfortunately - saw at least 10 people taking bad "spills" while trying to hold on to the railing and manage their hand luggage at the same time. X finally closed off one of the gangways and used the somewhat safer metal one, creating a bottleneck of everyone trying to get off on just one side.
Apparently three of the luggage "containers" were lost and chaos ensued for quite some time.
It was a wonderful cruise and I wish we could have found more time to spend with others of our group -- where did the 14 days go?? Didn't we have great weather? Don't know if many of you have seen the news that Tenerife suffered torrential rainfall this week -- several cars were washed into the Atlantic and there was lots of property damage. We are "assuming" that our house is still standing . If not, as Bob said to me, "that's why we have insurance"!
We are now enjoying the fantastic weather in Naples and will be here until next Friday. Then some time in Ft. Lauderdale and San Diego before moving into the house near Orlando which we've rented for the winter.
Hope we have a chance to see you all on a cruise again ... sometime very soon.
