Really sorry to hear that, Sue. I haven't kept up with the Owls thread, and I'm guessing I should have known what was going on from reading over there. Give Larry our best, too, and we still hope to see you in a couple of weeks.
Susie, I want to be in person. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
I feel like the time is flying by right now. One week from today Bob and I will be PACKING OUR SUITCASES!!!! I agree that this cruise has been anticipated for a very long time and it's hard to believe that it's finally almost here!
I have to make final decisions about suitcases today! They want the inventory tomorrow and the suitcase itelf goes on vacation Wednesday night. This is new for me - won't be able to go back and take something out and put something else in, which I usually do many times. Nice and sunny today so at least I can see what I'm doing with all the black pieces. Have a nice Sunday.

Project #1. Replace lamps in fixtures outside garage. Large globe dinked against rock on house. Broke into pieces. Off to hospital. Two stitches on left wrist, big bandaids on right hand.
Project #1A. After replacing bulbs (must get new globe tomorrow if they still make them), X10 switch by front door failed. Nobody in town stocks them. Ordered from Home Depot.
Project #2. Mow yard. Was 3/4 done when the drag link on the riding mower blew the front pivot joint. No steering now. Ordered from Searsdirect.
Project #3. Vacuum downstairs. Plug end on vacuum failed. Back to the hardware store for a new plug. Installed.
Project #4. Get on ladder and finish washing outside windows. Right. Who am I kidding??? The way this day is going, they can STAY dirty!
I'm watching New England make minced meat out of Tennessee instead.
Chris, I think you'd better stay away from projects (except for maybe #4) until AFTER the cruise (except maybe lugging out the suitcases). I'm sorry to hear about your wrist. I hope you're not too uncomfortable and that the stitches will be out before you leave for the cruise!

Yup. They'll pull the stitches in a week or so. No discomfort really. It was a "nice" clean slice on the outside - good thing it wasn't on the "business end".
New England / Tennessee game got so bad (52 - 0 with more than 10 minutes left in the 3rd quarter) that CBS decided to go to something "more competitive" and switched to the New York / Buffalo game! Have never seen them give up on a game before.
Hi, Everyone. Two and a half weeks ago Anne and I got back from a week at Disney World and then we just got back yesterday from 5 days up in New England leaf peeping, wine tasting (and buying) and snow dodging (yes, Chris, we found the snow just south of Boston in Connecticut). Actually it was quite pretty even though it's waaay too early for snow.
So now we're beginning to realize that we're less than two weeks from the next trip...wow, that's been scheduled for over a year and a half. It's FINALLY HERE.
Chris - Get those stiches out! Good thing geocaching doesn't require tremendous manual dexterity!!
Garry - It seems like we never unpack our suitcases...they just stay out now. Good thing the laundry rates aren't bad here.
Susie - I've been missing the Owls thread, too. I'm hoping nothing's seriously wrong with Larry. It sounds like we'll still see you in two weeks.
Just stopped by to say Hi. Chris, I think you should pay someone else to do the windows. Just watch baseball and root for the Phillies if you can (even though we beat the Rockies when you were only one strike from taking the series back to Philadelphia).
Susie - sending good thoughts to you and Larry. Hope that all goes well with whatever decision you have to make, and that your SIL isn't suffering too much.
Chris - did you really want to do all those projects?? Why???? I think after Project Nr. 2 "backfiring", I would have gotten back into bed and pulled the covers up over my head! Get well soon.
Who am I to talk? For several years I've put off having those ugly little yellow-white patches (Xanthelasmen) "bad cholesterol" removed from my eyes. Finally had it done about ten days ago ... after the dermatologist said it would be healed within a few days. P.S. Am still walking around with those little band-aids over both eyelids and they seem to be in no rush to fall off. They can't be removed, because the entire healing process (scabs and all) would then have to start all over again. So, Garry, if the darn things don't come off soon, you will know me even without the Equinaut pins you are bringing for us -- look for the strange lady with band-aids over both eye-lids.
On a happier note, just read that the dermatologist, near the area in Florida (Poinciana) where we will be renting a house from December-April, won $189,000,000 in the Powerball last week. Guess he can close his office! Everyone on the Yahoo forum for the community is wondering if they need to find a new dermatologist!

Ah well now -- that depends entirely upon the nature of the cache. I've found some that required tree climbing and other similar gymnastics. Today at lunch I bagged #1998 and #1999. On the way home, I have one I've been eyeballing for a while that I'd like to make the 2000th find.

Nice .. REAL nice. Just had to bring that up, didn't you?!? Hey, they gave us an entertaining season at any rate. Denver's got the Monday Night game tonight, so I'll watch that. Will be curious to see which San Diego teams shows up. I'm guessing they can't run against us, and we can run against them. As for the passing game -- we'll see.
Actually, Charline got a quote this a.m. Seems a silly price, but they're going to do the screens and everything. I'm inclined to actually pay someone for the first time and have it over with. The outsides are actually easy for me and don't require a ladder. I've got one of those 24' extension pole thingys that works fine. Hose it down, give it a scrub, and squeegee it off. Charline didn't think much of my idea of hosing down the inside windows in the back, and at 18' up, I didn't think much of using a ladder yesterday, either.
So far, I haven't blown up anything at work today (but the day is young). Perhaps it was just a "yesterday thing"?
Look forward to seeing you guys in a couple of weeks.
