Good Morning,
Just wanted to tell everyone about the Emerald Princess.......WOW!!!! What a ship!!! It is an absolutely beautiful ship and it is huge. We stayed overnight as Princess' guests. It was without a doubt a very lovely weekend. Everything was complimentary. They put us up in a mini-suite and since we were pierside the whole time, we were fortunate to get a room on the starboard side looking out over the water and the city of Ft. Lauderdale. The weather was rainy (wouldn't you know....hasn't rained in a long time and it picks that weekend to do so) but it didn't spoil the fun! We tasted the foods in both specialty restraunts and we had a full dinner in one of the Anytime Dining Rooms. The food was superb! The decor is very tastefully done and is absolutely beautiful. The staff was very, very friendly and helpful. Your every wish was their command. They have a new area called the Sactuary. It is an adults only area that is set aside for quiet and reflection. It is so nice. It is on the 16th deck and one can have a massage, just sit and relax or swim in the aromatherapy pool. There is a jaquzzi there too. There is a service charge for it, but it is well worth it. It is $10 for a half day. You can not book into it in advance as of yet, but can do it once you get on the ship. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from the crowds and just chill out! I know that I will take advantage of it when we sail on the Emerald, Dec. 16th. I hope that anyone that is booked on this ship enjoys it as much as I did on my brief visit. It is truely a GRAND ship! Be sure to take your walking shoes....my feet still hurt! Oh, the ice cream stand has a wide array of ice cream with lots of toppings, but I found that the ice cream itself had no real taste....all I could taste were the toppings. I would definitely not pay for it!! The pizza was very good. We didn't have enough time to eat or try everything that was available. All in all, it was absolutely wonderful. Only 48 days till my cruise on the Emerald.
My warmest regards,
Florida
