Emerald Princess

For a balcony room is there any particular deck that is preferable due to balcony size, etc.

Barb, I think most of the balcony cabins have about the same size balconies, with the exception of those in the stern. Mini suites have larger balconies too, and suites even bigger. There's also a small problem if you're on one of the top decks under the recreation areas. We were on the top deck of staterooms on our first cruise and could hear them dragging around chairs in the morning. Not a big problem, but there. On this coming cruise, we're on the Aloha deck with Riviera and Lido above us, so there shouldn't be much noise. We are also fully covered whereas some of the balconies below us are only partially covered, or not covered at all.

I never thought about covered or uncovered balconies. Where would I find out?

Barb the Emerald is a Grand Class ship there for if you want a Big Balc for reg balc price get a cabin on tha Caribe Deck they are half cover half not balconies. If you want a Big Balc at the Aft get a cabin like D735. Huge balc like the Caribe balcs but fully covered!

Thanks for this info!

One of the cruises we are currently considering is a B2B (yes, 20 days ... is that TOO long ... normally do 14 days) on Emerald in January '09.

On another Princess ship we were upgraded to a very nice suite. Unfortunately, it was directly below an open deck area so every morning about 5 AM we'd be awakened by chairs being moved while they cleaned the deck. No big thing and we enjoyed the suite. (Still, would not want to book a balcony cabin there ....) Thanks again for the reminder!

My Signature LuLu ...
