    The Pyramids of Egypt

    The Pyramids of Egypt
The last survivor of the original wonders of the world, and one of the world's greatest architectural feats, the pyramids at Giza are just as grand and glorious in person as they are in pictures. Gazing upon these giant structures, it is difficult to imagine that they were built over 4000 years ago. See photos of the pyramids.

my husband and I want to go here for our 5 year anniversary...I think it would be amazing!

A friend of mine honeymooned in Egypt and he LOVED it. Here is a pic of him and his wife in front of The Sphinx & Pyramid:

    Good photos, Char!

Does anyone know which CLF members have done this?

I know gkm (Garry) and Bob did ... but I can't remember if she posted a report or not.

I went in 2005, it was ok, but over 1,000 other people also went from the ship and there were lots of other people there as well so I could not really enjoy it. But I am glad I went.

I have been to Egypt many times but never made it to the Pyramids.
We are visiting this November. We are doing a private full day tour from Alexandria. Yup, I am looking forward to tick it of the list.

I was in Egypt last Nov on a Holy Land cruise We had a 3 hour bus ride each way from Port Said to Cairo and the Pyramids. We traveled in a caravan with several buses from the ship and many armed guards both on the buses and in cars around the buses. I noticed constant litter all along our route and in the areas of Cairo we went through and also around the Pyramids (but not as much there). The vendors around the Pyramids were the worst, pushy and in your face, of any places I have been. I am very glad I got to see the Prymids but don't care to return to Egypt. However our luncheon cruise on the Nile was wonderful. The boat/barge restaurant was excellent and I didn't see any litter around that area. We had guards with us in Alexandria too, not as much litter around that city.
