Dominica -- Your Opinion

If you wish, PLEASE give you reasons. They could be helpful to those who haven't been and are considering going.

While we don't mind having a port stop in Dominica, it's not one of our favorites ... lack of beaches.

Everytime we book a catamaran to the "Champagne Reef" it gets cancelled for one reason or another .... Do hope we get to do it on our upcoming cruise in January .... The Champagne Reef is something I've always wanted to do.

Actually, we've not had a bad time just shopping around in town. (Had to ... per above, cancelled excursions ) The town is not big but it's clean ... and the locals have always been friendly and nice.

Well, Lulu - that Champagne Reef snorkel is something I want to do, as well . . . IF we ever get to Dominica.

We have been there twice. It is a nice change from the islands with all the shopping.

We were on Dominica in Dec and took the public transit to Trafalgar Falls which was great. The bus stop is hard to find but was very interesting. The cost was under $20 US for ride and entrance fee to the falls. We really enjoyed it

We were in Dominica in '06 and loved it. It wasn't then (and I hope still isn't) as commercial and "touristy" as some of the islands. We took a private tour with Reyno and got a real feel for the island and hope to go back one day.

Dominica is a great island! Love the scenic beauty, and the people are so friendly. Salespeople are not aggressive...like some places.

I've been to Dominica two times...and loved both visits. Look forward to our next return.
