I agree in photos, but having been right beside her in person in bright sunlight, I have to disagree. Midnight blue. Plus that is the official word on official (agent education program at sea) tours. Doesn't matter to me, but that is what they say in the AEP and that is what I saw (even though I most often call it black myself!).

    Sailors Superstitions
lol, it is interesting link you posted! It was fun reading, thank you!

Any of these facts are wrong, I think because woman in ship crew no bad luck. Woman in ship bridge is wery rare but no bod. Woman captain can to do good work as a man.

Fact. Cruise start on friday is bad. What you think? Do your cruise have started on friday?

Maybe, some of facts are correct too. Mouses ran off ship is bad sign. Mouses ran away if ship sink.

antelipa - Superstitions are not facts, they are beliefs. Most of them originated hundreds of years or more ago, long before "women's liberation." So the belief that women on the bridge are bad luck makes perfect sense, along with many of the other superstitions.

Years ago on an early cruise I was told at a first cruisers talk that black absorbed too much heat. The slight difference between blue and black on such a large area was enough to make a difference in heat retension in the bottom of the ship.

The new cruiser orientation was also very entertaining. They had a list of silly questions cruisers ask and the answers. "Does the ship make it's own electricity?" " No we have a very long extension cord." The story of a passenger complaining before the ship left dock. "I was told I would have an ocean view cabin. All I can see if the dock". And of course there is the classic tale of the cruiser who liked to sleep in the buff. On the last night he forgot and put his day bag out with the rest of his luggage. I wonder if they still do those orientations.

Lots of good stories like that. Some people are very naive and some just don't think before asking their questions. Of course, until you get the answer every question might be a good one (at least for the person reciting it in the future)

You should hear some of our questions that we have had over the years on computers.
