Thread: Wonder Crew Member Missing

CELEBRATION --
Disney Cruise Line is searching for a missing crew member from the Disney Wonder.
According to posts on the DISboards website, a crew member is believed to have gone missing Tuesday from the cruise ship.

The Wonder is in the middle of a 7-day cruise. On Tuesday the ship was at sea.
People who say they are onboard the ship have posted that a female crew member from youth programs is missing.

Disney Cruise Line released this statement:

Given the circumstances we are very concerned about the crew member’s well-being and are doing everything possible to assist with the search effort and investigation.

The Disney Wonder is set to return to Los Angeles.

US Coast Guard Public Affairs Officer Petty Officer Pamela Manns said the Mexican Navy has taken the lead in the search. The USCG out of Sacramento, California provided air support with 2 C-130s aircraft, which provide long range search and rescue support.
They were notified about the case on March 22 and responded by helping the Mexican Navy as requested with the C-130s, but as of now, Manns said “our involvement is over”.

Excerpt from Orlando Sentinel article:

Disney Cruise Lines spokeswoman Rena Langley said the Mexican Navy is conducting the search. The U.S. Coast Guard and the FBI also were notified. The Bahamian Maritime Authority is investigating the incident.
Langley said the crew member, who has been with the cruise line since 2010, never returned for her scheduled shift. She did not identify the missing woman.

Langley said it's "certainly a possibility" she went overboard.
"Given the circumstances, we are very concerned about this . . ."
