Disney Dream seen from Monarch of the Seas
NEW video has revealed how close the Disney Dream came to another cruise ship as she manoeuvred in port.
Passengers on the adjacent Monarch of the Seas were having the routine pre-cruise safety drill when the Disney Dream moved within a few yards of their Royal Caribbean ship.
Disney say the ship was in control at all times during the manoeuvre at port Canaveral, Florida, and there was never a safety concern.
Having seen captains docking ships in crowded ports dozens of times, I’m inclined to agree. Watching huge cruise ships do the equivalent of reverse-parking often looks scarier than it is.
A “don’t worry” announcement may have calmed the passengers’ nerves, though.
And an officer telling them “No pictures, no pictures” was hardly reassuring
