I haven't had the opportunity to cruise Disney yet

One of these days I'm sure we'll give them a try

They have their advantages. Typically a younger crowd, with most people in their 30's to 50's, kids in tow (if you ever see the kids ... they spend all their time in the clubs for them). Because of that, the "Adult Only" pool is usually uncrowded and quiet, and the "Adult Only" beach on their private island Castaway Cay is usually relaxing.

They have a high attention to detail, with very clean staterooms -- even the sliders -- when we have cruised them. Our impression is there is less drinking, less smoking, and because they don't have a casino, less areas you have to walk through where groups of people are smoking.

They have assigned dining, but rotate main dining rooms, which are richly themed. Each night, you get the same servers, but they are dressed differently to match the dining room you are in that night. Food is marginally better than either Princess or NCL in our experience, but that's a subjective thing. Stage shows are all Disney, but of a higher quality than we've seen on Princess or NCL. Comedians are "clean" with less F-bombs or extreme scatological humor, but still "adult orientated" in the "18 and only" section of the ships.

Because they have a fanatical fan base, they can charge substantially more than Princess or NC for the same itinerary.

The only Disney cruise we've been on was quite short and connected with a company sales meeting. It was hard to think of it as a real cruise ... more like a company function.

Even so, I voted "Not Really" because there are no casios on Disney ships.

No casino, lots of kids. I voted "heck no". I know that Disney puts out a great product, but I like a more adult atmosphere.

We went on our first in Jan. and LOVED it! We are Disney fans and have a 6-year-old so it was perfect for us.

I don't gamble, have never smoked, and have never had kids. I have ONLY sailed with Disney. #15 coming up next April on the Disney Fantasy.

In addition to what fshagan mentioned - I LOVE that kids have their own clubs, pools, even the majority of a deck (the one I avoid - lol), and adults have theirs as well as adult specialty dining options (Palo and Remy). As an adult who wants to stay far away from children most of the time, Disney is my line of choice! I also think they generally have outstanding officers and crew members. To me, they are like family!

For us it is also a ntbt (no thanks but thanks). With the same reasons: Lots of Kids, no Casino etc.

Understandable about the casino, but when it comes to separating kids from adults, I don't see how anyone could do it better than Disney unless a line doesn't allow kids at all.

I base that on the Magic and the Wonder. I'm guessing the Disney Dream does NOT do as well keeping kids in their own areas, due to the layout of the ship. That's a prime reason my friend and I booked a concierge suite for the new Fantasy since it's the same design. With a rather secluded (and gated) concierge area, we will never need to enter the Mickey Pool area to visit the general "drink station" with the masses.

But I would never suggest a Disney cruise to anyone who likes to spend time in the casinos. DCL will never have one.
