The Vista Spa and Salon provides pampering in a 10,700-square-foot ocean-view spa environment. A menu of spa treatments and services such as massages, body wraps, facials, manicures/pedicures and hair styling are available.

In the spa’s Tropical Rain Forest, passengers can experience the benefits of steam, heat and water therapy combined with the power of aromatherapy to relax the mind and body.

For the ultimate in luxury, the Vista Spa and Salon offers three specifically designed “spa villas,” complete with an indoor spa treatment suite, connected to a private outdoor verandah with personal hot tub, open air shower and chaise lounge. With incredible ocean vistas and warm tropical breezes, the treatment suites provide guests with a private luxury for one or a romantic retreat for two.

Fitness-minded passengers can take advantage of the state-of-the-art exercise equipment, an area for spinning classes, private salons for Pilates instruction, and personal consultations with professional trainers.

On Disney Cruise Line’s private island, Castaway Cay, Serenity Bay is a pristine stretch of beach exclusively for adults, located almost a mile from the main family beach. At Serenity Bay, sparkling turquoise waters meet pristine white sand, palm fronds sway in the breeze and plenty of comfortable lounge chairs and two-person hammocks dot the beach.

For the ultimate in relaxation, adults can enjoy a therapeutic massage at one of the nearby cabanas overlooking the ocean. And there is no need to head back to the main beach for refreshment – a delectable lunch buffet, Bahamian specialty drinks, beer and mixed drinks are served at the nearby Castaway Air Bar.

    Play . . .
The nightclubs along Beat Street (Disney Magic) and Route 66 (Disney Wonder) offer fun just for adults after 9 p.m. each night. Three totally different atmospheres – a trendy dance club, a casual sports pub and a swanky piano bar – afford adults the chance to enjoy live nighttime entertainment, cabaret shows, game shows, dancing, live satellite sports broadcasts and more. Late-night delights for the palate include specialty cocktails, fines wine, champagne, caviar and other temptations to please grown-up tastes.

    Enrichment . . .
An engaging and sophisticated series of adult enrichment is offered aboard Disney Cruise Line. The Disney Innovations seminar showcases the greatest innovations that The Walt Disney Company has brought to animation and themed entertainment. Roy E. Disney, Walt Disney’s nephew, was instrumental in the development of the series, providing personal commentary and a unique perspective on many of the innovations featured in the program.

During Disney’s Art of Entertaining, guests learn the secrets behind enchanting entertaining and dining experiences, and meet with experts for tips in creating everything from dazzling desserts to floral masterpieces to the perfect wine pairing.

As part of Disney’s Navigator Series, storytellers share the history and lore of classic ocean liners and highlight the ship's elegant public spaces. The tour illustrates how Imagineers blended classic ship design with distinctly Disney elements to create the magic of Disney Cruise Line.

On Disney Behind-the-Scenes, guests get a sneak peek behind the curtain of the magnificent Walt Disney Theatre, learn about the making of the Disney ships, tour the ship’s galley and find “hidden Mickeys.”

During the From Stem to Stern wine tasting, guests learn to sip like a pro by meeting with one of the ship’s sommeliers and sampling wines from around the world.

    Weddings and Honeymoons . . .
Whether saying “I do” for the first time, taking part in a commitment ceremony or renewing vows, Disney Cruise Line provides a happily-ever-after setting like none other. Couples can exchange vows in an ultimate romantic beach-side ceremony on Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, or onboard the ship.

Almost makes me want to try Disney!

Weddings and Honeymoons! Hook 'em early----later they could say that junior was conceived on a Disney ship and, of course, they would have to introduce little junior to the world of characters at sea at the earliest opportunity!

If the prices would only come down to be competitive with other cruise lines we would consider Disney----however the brand name is keeping them inflated.

And probably will, for the foerseable future . . .
We'd probably try them if their pricing were more competitive. Their home port certainly is conveniently close for us. And I do love seeing thier ships in port. .. it's always sfun to hear them blow their really unique signal.

You really don't know what you're missing, folks. The level of attentive service and pampering you get on DCL, the overall ambiance of the ships, the spacious staterooms, the entertainment, the beauty of Castaway Cay.... well, I could go on for pages.

Many people seem to think that DCL ships are totally overrun by hordes of ill-mannered kids, 5 foot tall rodents and 6 foot tall miscellaneous critters. That's just not so. There are so many activities for the kids that you hardly see them unless you happen to wander by the kids pool area, which is at the far aft end of the 9th deck. Character appearances are usually at set times and locations around the ships; you're unlikely to be bumping elbows with Goofy at the poolside bar.

We are Disney fans (but not fanatics) well into our so-called "Golden Years", and cruise with another couple of similar vintage, with no children or grandchildren accompanying us. We find that there are normally many cruisers like us on every trip we've been on. We all just love the entire DCL experience.

More expensive? No doubt about it. But in our minds, worth every penny.

    Okay; enough of my .

Hi Boz, thank you for all the info on Disney We don't have a lot of posters for Disney and any info we can get is appreciated.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Even for a couple who are in their late 50's, we found Disney was wonderful. Their shows are the best of any cruise shows we've ever seen in our 35 cruises. We absolutely loved their private island and wished we would have done the itinerary that visits there twice during the week. The stateroom was very nice, the bed was comfortable, and the service is great.

However, while the food in the Palo specialty restaurant was very good, we found the food in the other dining venues to be lacking. We were disappointing given that everything else was so very nice, to find the food to be just 'okay'. While it was not bad, we felt this was the only area where improvement could be made.

But with that said, we never felt overwhelmed with children, always found a place to get away from the kids when needed, and thoroughly enjoyed the Disney cruise experience. The fireworks being shot off the ship at night were great and the parties for the kids with the characters kept them busy and happy.

Expensive? Yes, it is when compared to other cruises. Worth it? Depends on your budget and what you want to get out of a cruise. But to sit there and watch the awe and wonderment in the eyes of a little child as they watch one of the shows was worth the price of admission.

Boz, I am been stating for quite a while that Disney is not just for kids. It is like Epcot, there is a lot of stuff for the rugrats but there is even more things for adults.

And Disney will NOT let quality suffer. Every thing they do is a class act.

Now if they would only reduce their prices a bit......

    Boz,

Great observations about Disney Cruise Lines. I expect the intense focus they spend on children's and teen activities, one would expect the children to be busy and entertained...i.e., not bothering anyone else.

As nealberk frequently espouses, Disney Cruise Lines offers full-time fun for both kids and adults, in an Epcot Center sort of way. I tend to think it goes even deeper than that...since no child has ever booked a cruise directly. The great food, full line of entertainment of all age ranges, and really compelling rooms and suites all add up to a good time had by all ages.

I imagine self-selection plays a part in the marketing of Disney Cruise Lines, too. After all, they've got to focus directly on their core audience; families.
