    Just Back From Disney Magic

This was our 32nd cruise, but our first time on Disney. We have always wanted to do a Disney cruise, but quite frankly, it was always more than we wanted to pay. There were many cabins available, so they offered a special travel agent rate on the 12/13/08 sailing on the Magic doing a 7-night itinerary to the Western Caribbean (Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, & Castaway Cay). This was a deal we couldn't pass up and decided to treat ourselves to a last minute cruise for Christmas.

    Overall, the cruise was wonderful!

The ship, although small by today's standards, was very nice and rode very well - we never felt any motion-of-the-ocean.

The service was excellent, the food was good, and the shows were absolutely fantastic!

They had many opportunities for adults to do things without children, both on the ship and on their private island.

Speaking of which, Castaway Cay was a wonderful stop and would love to stay there forever. We went to the 'adults only' beach and it was awesome.

The only negative we had to say was that the 'fast food' they offered around the pools was not very good (hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, etc).

Palo, their speciality restaurant, was very good and well worth the $15 fee.

We really loved that we could bring our own booze on board! Saved us alot of money.

We also loved the new Bolt movie in 3D!

Given the opportunity, we'd love to do it again and would highly recommend this cruise, especially to those with small children.

Please let me know if you have any questions or would like more specific information about anything to do with this cruise.

Welcome back Pete! I'm glad you had a great cruise.

A few questions from an adult cruising without children perspective:
What kind of adult activities did they have during the day?
I know there is no casino, so what do they offer in the evening besides the shows in the theater?
What about lounges? What kind of entertainment there?

Good questions! We weren't sure what it would be like without our own children, but based on what we heard, we definitely wanted to find out.

There is the Cove pool, which is for adults only. They have a little cafe (drinks) there and the spa, all of which is for adults. They have a couple of night clubs - forgot the names - that are for adults only and they will also have adult entertainment in those lounges.

The adults only area of their private island is beautiful with plenty of lounge chairs and is very quiet and peaceful.

It was great going at this time of year because there were alot of children, but it was not over-run with children as it is during other parts of the year when school is out.

And it was wonderful watching the children during the shows and seeing the look of wonderment in their eyes.

Thanks for your review! Do you have pictures?

So would you recommend it to people without children? Meaning, my husband and I are 27 with no kids (only 3 dogs) but enjoy disney. I was just curious like char about what adults do so knowing there are a variety of adult areas is good. did they assign you to a dining table with other adult only travelers or were you sat with a family and kids?

Do you think it is worth the cost when not on special?
