    DL for non-Disney fan?

If someone in the family is not a big Mickey Mouse fan (I know, heresy), will going on a Disney cruise be a bad idea for him or her? Someone I know is being barraged by her kids to go, but she is reluctant.

Disney vacation for the Disney shy

Actually the Disney touches in-suite are subtle. And with kids, it is nice to have Disney programming. Much of the adult part of the Disney Line is quite upscale and in-line with my experiences on HAL.
One thing I did notice as a mother of a 12 and 8 year old, I had to learn to look down when I walked, I have never seen so many toddlers in my life. It took me a bit but after adjusting my range of vision down I did really well.
If you friend loves the idea of sitting on her very large private veranda reading a great book while her kids are happily entertained by a fabulous kids program, she will love it. If she wants to be involved with the kids, it is all Disney based, including the productions, and she may not enjoy it. Not sure that I've helped, but here are some elements for her to consider.

I like Disney but I am not crazy about Disney. We loved our 3 cruises on DCL.

You need to remember that common areas you will see the character signings and pictures. Therefore you will see many kids and they are quite wild at times. Sometimes just to get around you have to detour. While not all children on the ship are wild you will see enough children being allowed to have the run of the ship. Just go into it to experience expecxring the worse and believe me you will be fine with it all. LOL

The adult area is a very nice place to get away from it all. But since you have children who will want to be involved get up early and find a good lounge and stake it out! LOL

Seriously it is all about your expectations. If the characters get on your nerves you will just need to stay away from that. If every single show you go to will be Disney related and this will get on your nerves...well this is the way it is. LOL
