    Autistic Travelers

I found a website today that I want to pass on to you. It is called: Autistic Globetrotting

It features articles, interviews, and other links that pertain to traveling with someone who is autistic. There is one interview about Autism on the Seas that is really interesting. Also on article on the site talks about finding the perfect cruise.

I read and read from this site. There seems to be so much good information. I hope you find it helpful or know of someone to pass the link on to that it may help too.

I am mildly autistic. It is called Asperger syndrome (after the doctor who discovered a high functioning form of autism) in my case. That is because people like me don't want to have the same label as those who can't do anything for obvious reasons. So if I ever seem weird, it is because of that disability. Thanks to the OP for the link. Austsm awareness is not good, so I feel a need to be more open about it instead of try to fit in and be normal.

Autism makes my mom think I can't travel without her. I have always dreamed about a solo vacatoin so I can do whatever I want to when I want to and not have to deal with the mom and daughter type of stress. A vacation should be fun and stress-free. But because of my disabilities, she insisted I will never be able to travel anywhere alone, especially on a cruise. So I think cruising with an autistic person requires some sacrifice to make sure that person's vacation is a good one.
