Here is what to do when you get to the dock. Sit the person down. On luggage if required. Go just inside the door and look for a Princess rep. Tell them you need a wheelchair for your mother/father ect. They will go get one for you. Whoever brings it will push it for you. Take them to the person who needs it. Hand in your bags to the porters if you have not done so. Follow this person to the H/C line. If they are not ready to board then you will be asked to wait near the elevator or in a special area for the H/C. They will assist you to board. You can take over for the Horizon Court (buffet). You can keep the wheelchair until you are in your room then take it to the Front Desk and they will return it to where it will be needed.
You may want to think about renting a wheelchair/scooter for the ship as these things are very big with lots of walking. If you do there are two places recommended by most. Care Vactions and scootAround. add dot com and you will get their web sites.
For getting off the ships the stardard proceedure is that you contact the Front desk a few days ahead of departure and request wheelchair assistance. They will give you a wheelchair and have you meet somewhere (a lounge) when your colour is called someone will assist you off the ship.
Have fun with your loved one. Cruising is great for the disabled.
