Question Window seats in Anytime Dining rooms

Can I reserve a window table if I select Anytime Dining? I decided I do not want to choose a traditional dining time, but with a wall full of large windows, I would hate to not sit near one.

On our most recent cruise, Majesty of the Seas we had My Time dining and requested and received a window table for 2 every night. We always had the same waiters and for the most part the people sitting around us each night were the same people.

What cruise line?? They all vary. Princess we just showed up and we were lucky with 6 to 8 of us to get a table within 15 minutes.

Carnival only uses part of the middle dining room for anytime. Even for traditional you cannot choose table size ahead of time or where the table is. If you have anytime, you can ask for a window and wait until its free if you dont mind waiting ... and waiting, but there are far fewer windows in the dining room in the middle of the ship, compared to the aft dining room.

Once you have a table and waiter you like on Carnival you can make arrangements to use him other nights at a particular time. I think it would be difficult to get the exact table for 2 at a window every night .. just one near a window in a particular waiters section. And tables for 2 on Carnival are very very close together, so close the table next to you will be hearing every word you say. Hardly private.

Lets face it .. everyone on the ship wants a window table too. iv only done anytime on Princess and Carnival. RCL you have to prepay tips to choose anytime dining.

I read on the Princess website you are automatically charged tips for your waiters whether you choose traditional or anytime dining. Is that not the same thing as prepaid tips?

I don't want ot insist on the same table and waiter every night or refuse a big table. I'm just hoping I can get a good view of whatever is outside when I sit down.

Automatically charged just means it is added to your bill that you pay at the end of the cruise.

I think you are misreading the sentence.

It clearly says RCL you prepay tips for anytime.

the sentence before I said I have only done anytime on Princess and Carnival.

I think you are just misunderstanding what I wrote and missing the period where the new sentence starts.

I did anytime dining on Carnival and it was half of the upstairs rear dining room, so there were plenty of windows. I guess it depends which Carnival ship you are on. On NCL everybody is anytime so when we were traveling just 2 of us we always got a window seat as most of the tables for 2 were by the windows.

    Smile Traditional dining second seating

Change of plan: Knowing everything is closed at night in Seattle, Mom decided there is no reason not to go back to the ship when there is nothing left to do and eat onboard. So she chose the TD at 8:15, which is doable because we are not cruising in the peak season. That will give me a better chance of sitting at a window - assuming I can ask for one.
