    Booking a speciality restaurant

    Hi

On Royal Caribean how far in advance can you book a table at a speciality restaurant?

On NCL its 48hrs before. Whats the
    rule on RCI?

    Thanks

Specialty Restaurants can be reserved online up to 4 days before your sail date. If you're sailing in less than 4 days, you will need to make your reservations onboard.

Advanced reservations are limited to parties of six persons or less in all Specialty Restaurants. Tables cannot be combined or rearranged in order to preserve the intimate atmosphere of the restaurant.

If you require technical assistance with your Specialty Restaurant reservation, please call (800) 398-9819

We booked our Chops online about 2 months in advance of our last cruise. I did end up changing it on board from 4 people to 6 people, with no problem whatsoever.

I got an e-mail about a month ago for my 04/02 RCL cruise asking that I book then. Seems what they ask and what they say might be two different things.

On RCCL we've always waited until we were on the ship to book and have never had a problem getting what we wanted.

As far as excursions and specialty restaurant bookings, they usually only allow about 50% of the space to be booked online. The rest is held for onboard bookings.

I have never had a problem waiting until I am onboard.
I like to look at the menus for the MDR and then decide what night or nights to go to the specialty restaurants.

If you go to Chops when you board or anytime for that matter they will have all the MDR menus for the week.

They also have all the MDR menus in the Concierge Lounge.

My reason for asking is that on formal nights we intend to use the speciality restaurants as we don't want to wear formal attire so will avoid the MDR.
