Wine in the cabin

I am still confused about having wine in our cabin. We will sail on the RCI Briliance of the Seas. We plan to purchase our alcohol on the ship. If we buy 12 bottles of wine in advance, can we have it delivered to the room? If so can we open it when we want and drink it where we want? I am guessing the answer is no. If no, and if we open the bottle in one of the restaurants can we take any wine remaining in the bottle to our room? I just can't seem to get a handle on all these stupid alcohol rules. Thanks in advance for your help. Lee

I can answer some of your concerns, Lee.

If you buy the wine package you can ask for a bottle at any of the bars or in the dining room. I don't believe delivery to the room is an option, but you could ask once you get onboard.

Yes, you can take it to your cabin for consumption.....or if partially consumed the restaurant will hold it for you for the next meal if you prefer.

Since it is an onboard purchase you can drink it anywhere drinking is allowed. If you take it to the pool area be sure to use the plastic glasses as they don't allow glass for obvious reasons.

Rules are changing all the time, but to the best of my knowledge this is the way it operates.

If you buy the wine from RCI corkage fees are already included...
i have ordered wine at the beginning of the cruise in the dining room and asked that a couple of bottles be sent to the stateroom.. which was done..

Thanks Joey! Right from the horses mouth....you can have the wine sent to your cabin.

We never asked because we enjoy the wine with dinner and don't drink it before AND at dinner...
...it's either/or....too old for that much drinking!

I hope they do not serve horse at dinner. Thanks to you for your posts. I am going to buy the wine in advance, save a few bucks and hope I can take it to the room. Nothing better than a glass on the balcony in the evening. I am going to be glad to get this first cruise under my belt so I have a better understanding of what to expect. Lee
