Ah, one of the last grand traditions of sailing still being observed by some cruiselines.
It's a grand sight when the lights dim and the waiters march in to the strains of "When the Saints Go Marching In" with their Baked Alaskas held high, flaming or sparkling on top. (Celebrity still flames the Alaska while Carnival and others light sparklers on top) The crowd goes wild waving white napkins above their heads and clapping and screaming when their waitstaff pass by their tables!
How could Baked Alaska taste the same without the hoopla?
I love the parade, I just can't imagine baked Alaska with-out it. I've loved it since I was a kid and still love it. Please don't take away the parade.

I enjoyed watching the flaming baked Alaska for many years. It just wasn't the same when they switched to sparklers. Sparklers are however, better than activating the sprinkler systems.
