I luv eating those little dead snails, but only while on a cruise and after a few cocktails. Kinda like eating oysters in the half shell, caviar, and other gourmet foods. They're not something I would ever buy and eat at home.

Have you folks who hate escargot ever really tried it ... or ... is it just the thought of eating a snail?

Sorry to say I have never tried them. DH loves them, they just make my skin crawl.

I have tried Escargot and do not find them horrible, I just have stepped on major sized slugs in bare feet and never got past that trauma.

I love Smoked Oysters, had them this weekend with wine and crackers, and I love Oysters Rockefeller, or Oysters Bienville. Just not raw so much.

Cheryl, I love smoked oysters! And fried oysters, and oyster stew and oysters any way except raw!

A nice glass or two of wine makes it perfect.

The texture of escargot is similar to smoked oysters, I think.
