Red face Do YOU Ever Tire of Eating on a Cruise?

Especially toward the end longer cruises ... I often think ...

"OH NO! It's time to eat AGAIN!"

Does anyone else ever feel this way?

Lu, you can't be serious? I hate going home to my own cooking.

Sometimes I have a desire for comfort food--- ...meatloaf & mashed potatoes...fried green tomatoes...pot roast...BUT then I look at the new menu in front of me and forget all that......

Now, I will admit that I don't order everything on the menu every night. I will have a starter (either appetizer or soup, rarely both) an entrée and sometimes dessert. Just because it's on the menu doesn't mean I have to eat it!

LuLu, the longest cruise I was on so far has been 8 nights. I'll let you know after the 12 night one I haven't had a chance to get bored with the dinner menu yet

The breakfast selection in the buffet can become tiring to me on a 7 night cruise though.

I just went on my first seven day cruise in May, and I was so sick of eating by the end it was pathetic! I started snacking on salad by the end of the cruise!

I suppose it's a possibility if you were overeating at every opportunity....and there are many of them. We find that we don't really eat much more than at home except at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Seriously, we do tend to have bigger breakfasts, and maybe bigger lunch on a sea day, but for dinner we're much like Char with moderate amounts. Must keep the Tiger svelte.

On a longer cruise, by the 9th day food is insignificant! We just dont think about it like the beginning of a cruise.

Alttho then there is the dilemma of having to go home and cook!

I'm not a foodie, but I tell myself "at least I'm not cooking or cleaning up afterwards."

I'm not one to eat each course, either. If all the appetizers don't appeal to me, I'm going to skip that course. I do try to have a green salad (no dressing, the way I like it) at each lunch and dinner.
We do sometimes have an afternoon nosh in the buffet -- a little salad, a little pasta, maybe some meat, of course a dessert. What's nice about serving yourself is that you can take a little bit. Hubby's the type who prefers to eat a little bit every few hours instead of just a few major sized meals during the day. And he's pretty slim, so it works for him.

I know on Princess, the menus vary each day. There may be some repeats of entrees from time to time, but not the entire menu, even on a long cruise. And there's the "always available" items, which hubby did have a few times on our last cruise.
