Always go for early seating now. On our first cruise we chose late - didn't start eating until 10pm!!! Sorry, but we are usually in bed by 1030 at home!

Usually it is at 6.30 on the cruises we've been on which is great. Can't eat beyond 8.30 normally anyway!

Eating early means being able to see the show or whatever and then spending the rest of the time in the casino or bar uninterrupted

Wow, 10pm? When was the seating for? Usually we've been done by 10, or at the most, getting dessert by then.

If I remember correctly it was for 9.30. We were on a table full of Spainish people who really do like to eat LATE!! They didn't turn up until 9.45 and by the time the orders were done, starters turned up at 10pm. We only went up twice. Since then, only go to early sitting!

It's early seating for us, too. We normally eat around 6PM at home so we try to keep the same schedule when we travel. Can't eat and then go to bed with a full tummy.....I'm too old for that!

Which ship as this? The latest seating I ever remember was 8:15, and we always go for late seating. I know with Carnival and Princess, the doors for the dining rooms (the traditional ones) will usually close about 15 minutes after the dinner begins so that passengers don't have to wait for habitually late tablemates. If somebody was going to be always that late, imo, it's probably best to ask the waitstaff to go ahead with taking and placing orders.

We get up at 5am and get an early breakfast anytime between 6am to 7am, with lunch at 12noon. Late dining at 8:30pm means having an extra light meal about 4pm. That is just too much food every single day. Prefer early dining as our last meal of the day, no snacking before or later.

I prefer late dining but several of my groups do early and I like to eat with the group.
