We did this trip on the Island Princess in late December 2005. It's fun, especially if you like sea days (like my family).

Hello Cruisin Chick...are you coming along?

We have also sailed this itinerary on Celebrity's Infinity a few years ago. We always enjoy the sea days..relaxing and just getting away.

Unfortunately, we can't travel while school is in session (the girl would never forgive us if we don't take her on a cruise). We did this one during winter break. We did go on a cruise on the Diamond's sister ship, Sapphire, and I think that's been my favorite ship so far.

    Hi Crusin Chick:

Sorry you aren't able to come along. Family comes first.

We sailed on Sapphire - Australia to Bangkok in 2005. We had several other cruising friends with us and had a great time. We had an aft suite and after a long day the hallway to our cabin got longer and longer. Sapphire is a very large ship and we had to be taken by bus in nearly every port we visited as the ship was so large that we could only dock near the cargo terminals. I just hope the service has improved. We have been really spoiled with our Celebrity Line.

    Hi Cindy!
I know what you mean about walking those long Sapphire/Diamond decks. We had a waayyyy back cabin on the Sapphire, then an almost way back on the Diamond and now an aft wayyyyyyy back for this Diamond. My last Diamond cruise was a family cruise and my daughter's cabin was forward. It was quite the hike from our cabin. That is one good way to walk off the desserts!

We were spoiled by the service we had on HAL last March but I still adore Princess. We had terrific dining service aboard the Diamond last October so we will just hold them to that standard.

Thumbs up We need a "Diamond" name

I still want to name our group something....something Diamond/Hawaii or Princess related. I will put my creativity hat on.

    Hi Cindy and Bookit-
I followed you over from CC boards. Thanks for the tip of CLF Cindy. I have a job with lot's of down time (I'm not complaining) and it's nice to have more postings to read! How are we going to wait for Oct. 4th to roll around?
    Cheers
