There is a nice little waterfront park just a short walk from the pier with scenery and just people watch.

Walking over the pontoon bridge and walking around that colorful town. Then grabbing a taxi to take me to the nicest of beaches, that are quite similar to Aruba.

Normally, we love going to beaches BUT in Curacao we love to just go into town and walking around.

Our favoite is to find an outdoor bar on the waterfront, chat with others, and PEOPLE WATCH. It's such a great place to do this!

If I don't know the answer I'm fairly certain I can find it.

Things to do in the port Curacao

Well, I have been there a few times and I know you can walk around in Willemstad. There are 2 sides: Punda & Otrabanda. Both sides have beautiful architecture but I think personally that Otrabanda is more beautiful.

Apart from Willemstad, Curacao also has a West side and an East side. You can hire a car for a day to visit some interesting places or you can take a tour. I really like the old colonial plantation homes (called landhuis), especially the ones on the West side of the island. The most beautiful ones are
Landhuis Santa Martha, Landhuis Daniel, Landhuis Ascension, and Landhuis knip.

But while you are in port you can alternatively choose to visit:

    • Christoffel National Park or
    • Shete Boka National Park or
    • Sea Aquarium

I have been to these places and I liked them all. All well worth a visit.
    Hope this helps.

Hi Daisy! Noticed this is your first post! Welcome to CLF!

Thanks very much for your suggestions for what to do in Curacao! I'd never considered visiting one of the old colonial homes. Were you actually able to go inside some of these homes for a tour?

    Hi Lulu,

Sorry for the late reply.. Yes, it is possible to visit some of the old colonial homes on a tour. They are not all open daily but for most of them you can find their opening hours/days on their webiste. I found some information on the official curacao tourism website for Landhuis Groot Santa Martha. Their link is Landhuis Groot Santa Martha / Museums / Our People and Culture / The CuraƧao Difference / Home - Curacao

I hope that can direct you in the right direction.
