We booked the Curacao Kayak Adventure through Royal Caribbean on our Adventure of the Seas cruise in September 2009. This was our first time to Curacao.
The meeting place for this excursion was at the Pier area. We loaded onto our small bus and there were 12 of us on the Tour.
We drove over Queen Juliana Bridge on our way to Jan Sofat, the Kayaking location. The tour description had me a little bit nervous because a life jacket being worn was mandatory and mentioned a difficult portion in the Spanish Waters. The area is where 2 different currents come together and you're kayaking in some white caps. It was not a very windy day, so the Pass was not extremely difficult, but our guides told us whatever we do, don't stop paddling. DH was in the back of the kayak since he's more experienced than I am, but this worked in his favor while we crossed the pass! I was splashed constantly during the crossing and it brought back memories of a log flume rideAfter the difficult portion, we kayaked to a small beach where we could swim and snorkel (they provided the equipment) for about 20 minutes before heading back the way we came to end the tour.
I would highly recommend this kayak tour!We had a great time and the Guides were very friendly and informative about the area. One thing I want to note though, you were not allowed to wear water sandals only water shoes were allowed in the kayaks. When we went to the beach it was very rocky so I would recommend getting water shoes if you plan to do this excursion.
Here are some photos from the Kayak Adventure. Some of them are a tiny bit foggy or have water spots, this was an underwater camera and I would recommend only using this type of camera because if your camera is not waterproof or water resistant it could get damaged from the splashing that could happen while kayaking.
