We enjoyed both Cruacao and Aruba. The whole feel of the island is different from the Caribbean islands farther north. The Dutch influence is very refreshing.

The most spectacular night skies can be seen sailing away from these islands! Totally clear skies look like black velvet with millions of sparkling diamonds all the way down to the horizon all around you. Breathtaking! I would sail down there just for the night sky!

Certainly, it's a great place to spend a day in town and do a bit of shopping.

Once, we took an inexpensive snorkel tour offered by the ship (just to do something different) and it was amazingly good. I just jumped off with my swim mask and still saw tons of colorful fish. Do wish they would offer more "water related" activities ....

Curacao - another great port!!

We really loved it when we docked inside and had only a short walk into town. Have done quite a few tours there. Don't go to the beach unless you have water socks -- very stoney.

Also used to love it when Curacao had fireworks at night when HAL ships left there.

Love it

We loved the snorkeling on Curacao, We booked the half day snorkel excursion with Curacao-Actief and got a little island history lesson in it too. But you are right about needing aqua socks, the beaches are coral and sharp, at least to my tender feet.

Has anybody been to Curacao lately? It's such a beautiful and interesting island. For a day-trip-cruiser, though--so much to see--so little time. If you are a diver or snorkeler, it's a dream come true. For me--the culture and architecture were amazing. Looking forward to another visit.
