Question tourist hurt in dolphin encouter bassin

Beginning 2008 ,3 tourists have been hurt because a dolphin jumped up and let himself fall on them. This is not the first accident. Does any one have more details in English?
    Should I stay away there?
These animals make a lot of excrements and that causes algae and diseases.
Does my visit supports to make even more damage for the local people?
I understand that it is a nice island, with many nice things to do, but is it still ok that this dolphin encountering is still promoted by the cruise lines?

If it were me I would still go!! The non incidents outweigh a mishap!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

    Dear Sue Miller,
meanwhile I googled it and even found the film on you tube. Yesterday. there was an other "mishap" at that very same attraction. Also more and more victims step forwards.
I feel sad that you accept mishaps with animals, who have to perform for our pleasure and entertainment. I also like to travel and meet other people and cultures. I try to show respect and avoid anything that will do harm to them. visiting doubtful conduct places is not on my list.

Hansjbrinker, would you post the link to the YouTube video so we can see what you are talking about? Thanks

I'm sorry to hear that!! Anytime people get close to animals, mammals or fish that can be harmful, though not expected, should be aware that injury CAN happen!! It is an individual choice each should make!! I did not say that I accepted it, you asked what we thought and I gave MY opinion, AWARE that mishaps happen!! On CLF ALL opinions are respected, and one opinion does not mean I force that opinion on anyone, and I am assuming yours doesn't either, that is YOUR opinion and I respect that!!

Thanks! That was a very short video clip, but that was all you needed to see to know what happened!

I think anyone doing an excursion involving ANY wild animal should be aware and always remember one KEY fact, that although somewhat "trained" they are still wild animals. Dolphins although generally friendly and docile are animals, and react to different stresses.

I did a dolphin encounter once...it was great...I did not do the swim though... I would do the encounter again...we need to have respect for these wonderful creatures...dolphins are my favorite animal, and their keen intelligence is amazing.
