Thread: Willemstad, Curacao

Anyone ever stop here? My cruise in October of 06 stops here and we have never been to this Caribbean Port...........

I have pictures of this port. Look at my gallery. You will love it. I love the fresh fish and vegetables in the boats. Buildings with their color makes it a photographer's paradise.

Great pictures............did you guys do anything special that stood out while you were there........frubals for your pictures.

Jim, We are going to be there in Oct. also on HAL's Volendam. Never been there, but daughter and SIL have and they love it . It's one of their favorite ports. I'm waiting for HAL to post the excursions to see what's to do. Is it this Oct. you're going or in 2006?

2006 Kathy........you'll be able to file a full report..........it is our Panama Canal 15 day full transit on the Radiance...........

When your excursions are posted let me know........I'll bet they are all pretty much the same.

Jim, when we were there 2 years ago, we went on a walking tour around Willemstad that we found on the web. I don't know where the one we used is, so I'll have to go find it. It's an easy town to walk around on your own, and we really enjoyed doing that.

Take a look in my cruise journal to find out the highlights of that day. It will give you an idea of what there is to see, so you can decide if that interests you.

I appreciate that Mc............looks like a neat port of call.

Will let you know, Jim. I don't know why they are not listed yet. I've already purchased excursions for Aruba and Tortola and the excursions for Dominica and Half Moon Cay are already listed. Have you ever done the full transit before? My kids loved that cruise. It's one of their top favorites, and they have cruised everywhere.

has a lot to offer. We enjoy snorkeling and have explored most of the coves and beaches. Williamsted is quaint and interesting. I don't shop as a rule so I can't speak to that but I loved exploring the town. The Aquarium is small but does allow you to swim with the sharks if that's your thing.

Only partial transit Kathy on the Brilliance last year..........we decided then it was full transit next time. WE loved Aruba..........we rented a taxi to see the island with 2 other couples.........4 hour tour and we split the cost.......then shopped in the afternoon. I would say that is one of our top cruises as well.
