Hi Kathy,

You don't have to wait for excursions to be available for booking to see what is offered. You can always find them on Hal's site.

The Tram/Trolley Train tour is nice for an overview of Willimstad. We enjoyed it. There will be mulitple times for this tour.

I also enjoyed the shopping.

I've been there too Jim.. We just walked around the town, it's not that big.. Take the water taxi across the canal, but walk back over the floating bridge.. If you go several streets back and to your left you will find an old open market, then a little further inland on the same street is a round covered flea market.. Also, get a picture of the water front from across the canal.. It's quite quaint...

This was a quaint little stop for us .

Pic: http://community.webshots.com/photo/...66659929oQovuV

Our ship docked at the other side of the town. There is this HUGE pontoon bridge that opens up to allow water trafiic through. You must see this!

We walked around this colorful town, and then hailed a taxi to take us to the beach. And what a beach it was! Beautiful white sand, turquoise waters, remincent of Aruba.

I once caught an episode of Love Boat where the ship was small enough to enter the "harbor"; similar to Bermuda, in that it parked "downtown".

One "strange" sight were the puppets made out of rocks, on the rocks where we pulled in (you may see some if you scroll through some of the other pictures in my link). Now, that reminded me of the rock grafitti on the Big Island on the lava flows along the highway.

Hal ships used to enter the channel and dock right there in town. It was great. My last 2 trips there they docked at the new dock. I wish they would go back to docking in the channel.
