    Question Curacao - Mathey Wharf

Our ship, Sun Princess, will be docking at Mathey Wharf.
Where is that in relationship to town, shopping, etc.?

We were there last Dec and could walk to town from where we docked. A nice walk and not very far. We had to ferry across the water as the floating ped bridge was down for repairs. I don't know the name of where we docked but I think it is the only place cruise ships dock. They were in the process of renovating the whole area from dock to town. Really going to spruce it up. It was much nicer than when I was there in 1999. A cool port, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Apparently there is more than one dock per this article.

Here is a map of the Harbour:
S.E.L. Maduro & Sons shipping and transportation

There are 5 different wharves used by cruise ships. All are on the Otrabanda side, which is across the channel from the side with the shopping and history, called Punda. On the map, that's the left side of the channel for the piers, and the right for the sightseeing.

Mathey Wharf is #7. When we were in Curacao, we were at the MegaPier, #12. Other ports in use for cruise ships are the New Wharf (#4) and the West Wharves (#s 5&6). For technical info about the piers, go here:

WOW, I didn't know there were so many. I knew some smaller ships could go up the channel but didn't ever see any there when I was there.
    Good info, thanks

On our recent Volendam cruises, we were docked at the Mega Pier. Had to walk along the shore edge, go through Rif Fort and then used the pontoon bridge to get into town.
