    She's more traditional in many ways from the recent newbuilds, which is a good thing cos I still think that Carnival misjudged things badly when they introduced QM2. Cunard has always, since the late 19th century, had ships judged by their quality of build and design and not their quantity of passengers carried. Queen Victoria was sposed to have been the name for the original Queen Mary, its refreshing that the name will be gracing such a stunning and beautifully crafted traditional liner. JMO

    Queen Victoria ex-Southampton UK - World cruise for 2008 is now on sale.
    Some really good prices with $250.00 OBC credit per person for full voyage.

    My folks are thinking of going on this so I thought I would share this with you.

    The Queen Victoria!

    Some interesting information on this ship.

    The Captain, Paul Wright, is the only Captain to command all 3 current Cunard ships.

    In the Royal Court Theatre they will offer private boxes, first @ sea, for a fee. There will be 830 seats, 3 decks and NO pillars causing obstructed views.

    The QV will also feature Cunardia, floating museum of Cunard history, and gift shop.

    She will offer a full World Cruise, Liner Voyages and segmented Voyages wthin the World cruise.

    There will be a 2 story Library with spiral staircase and 2 Librarians on staff. There will be almost 6,000 books within the Library.

    The special Grills area, for guests booked in suites only.

    Hemispheres is a 270 degree view lounge

    The Winter Garden, is an English conservatory with a retractable roof, rattan furniture, dance floor and afternoon tea.

    Cafe Carinthia is a cafe style bar serving tea, coffee and pastries

    the accomodations range from 151 sq. ft. to 2131 sq. feet! All accomodations include their well known "white star service."

    3 Levels of accomodations matched with its own dining areas...

    1) Queens Grill- consists of Grand Suites, Master suites, Penthouses, Queens Suites
    2) Princess Grill- consists of Princess Suites
    3) Brittania Dining Room- consists of Balconies, Oceanviews, and Insides

    There will be 20 rooms designated for the physically challenged

    There are NO quad rooms
