Queen Elizabeth 2 - Defining Elegance at Sea

Despite being the most traveled ship of all time (having sailed almost 5.5 million nautical miles), Cunard has scheduled some new ports for the legendary liner to visit in 2008: Cephalonia in Greece (May 11), Split in Croatia (May 14), Propriano in Corsica (July 24) and Grandafjordur in Iceland (August 4). A special welcome is expected during each of these maiden calls.

Queen Elizabeth 2's 17-voyage programme includes a half-dozen diverse Mediterranean sailings, as well as voyages to the Canary Islands, Norway, Iceland and North America. All voyages sail roundtrip from Southampton.

Travelers seeking to explore the Mediterranean can choose between seven itineraries, varying in length from 10- to 16-days. They are:

Mediterranean Adventure - A 16-day voyage, departing on May 5 with stops in Lisbon, Gibraltar, Valletta, Cephalonia, Dubrovnik, Trieste, Split, Corfu and Cadiz. Fares start from $2,695.

Mediterranean Treasures - A 12-day voyage, departing on May 21 with stops in Naples/Capri, Rome, Florence/Pisa, Cannes, Barcelona and Gibraltar. Fares start from $1,995.

Mediterranean Splendour - A 15-day voyage, departing on July 2 with stops in Lisbon, Sardinia, Corfu, Dubrovnik, Trieste, Valletta and Gibraltar. Fares start from $2,795.

Mediterranean Mosaic - An 11-day voyage, departing on July 20 with stops in Lisbon, Corsica, Rome, Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Gibraltar. Fares start from $2,095.

Mediterranean Odyssey - A 15-day voyage, departing on Oct. 27 with stops in Lisbon, Sardinia,
Naples/Capri, Messina, Dubrovnik, Zakinthos, Athens, Gibraltar and Vigo. Fares start from $2,495.

Taste of the Mediterranean - Two 10-day voyages, departing on Aug. 12 and Oct. 12 with stops in Lisbon, Sardinia, Cannes, Barcelona and Gibraltar. Fares start from $1,695.

Mediterranean Sojourn - A 14-day voyage, departing on August 27 with stops in Lisbon, Sardinia, Athens, Zakinthos, Palermo, Naples/Capri and Valencia. Fares start from $2,495.

In summer, Queen Elizabeth 2 will visit Iceland and Norway on three voyages:

Land of the Midnight Sun - A 13-day voyage, departing roundtrip from Southampton on June 2 with stops in the Norwegian ports of Bergen, Trondheim, Gravdal (Lofoten Islands), Longyearbyen, Tromso, Hellestylt, Geiranger and Stavanger. Fares start from $2,295.

Norwegian Wonders - A seven-day voyage, departing roundtrip from Southampton on June 25 with stops in Bergen, Hellesylt, Geiranger, Flaam, and Stavanger, Norway. Fares start from $1,495.

Lands of Fire and Ice - A 12-day voyage, departing roundtrip from Southampton on July 31 with stops in Reykjavik, Grundarfjordur, Akureyri in Iceland and Hellesylt, Geiranger, Flaam, Stavanger and Oslo in Norway. Fares start from $2,395.

Other voyages operating roundtrip from Southampton are:

Atlantic Isles Idyll - A 10-day voyage, departing on June 15 with stops in Bilbao, Funchal, Santa Cruz Tenerife, Las Palmas and Lisbon. Fares start from $1,695.

Summer and Fall Getaways - Three- or five-day voyages depart on July 17 (3 days), August 22 and October 22 (five days) with stops in Rotterdam and Zeebrugge, or Bilbao, La Rochelle and St. Peter Port. Fares start from $695.

Autumn Colors - A 20-day sailing departing on September 10 and includes an overnight in Quebec City, Quebec, as well as stops in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Saint John, New Brunswick; Bar Harbor, Maine; Boston, Mass.; Newport, R.I.; New York, NY and St. Johns, Newfoundland. Fares start from $4,195.

Canary Islands Splendour - A 12-day voyage, departing on Sept. 30 with stops in Madeira, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Malaga, Gibraltar and Lisbon. Fares start from $2,095.
