While reading about Los Angeles attractions I learned that is the port the first Queen Mary ship is permanently docked at. She did not retire from being a floating hotel and restaurant. Tours of that ship are offered. I was wondering if it is a good idea to go on her for a tour and meal before I spend 7 days on a large moving ship (the Sapphire Princess). Would staying on land in L.A. be better, considering this is my first cruise and my first real trip to the city? Or would it help me and my mom get used to being on a ship?
