Room Service: What's it like on Cunard ships?

What's Room Service like on Cunard? Like it? Use it?

While many of us on CLF had yet to cruise on a Cunard ship, we plan to at some time and have a keen interest in everything about Cunard.

I have never used room service, but from what I understand it is very good. Those in the Grill cabins can order from the dinning room menu and have it served in their cabin.

Sorry, I've made 11 trips on the QM2 and never once used room service.

What sort of things are offered from room service to those who are not in Grill cabins?
Of special interest is breakfast and mid afternoon.

Is there any special reason for not having tried it?

These are from QE2 but I think the choice is more or less the same on QM2, QV and QE

I use the buffet (King's Court) for cups of tea and snacks. I take all my meals in the dining room. I usually travel alone so I go to the dining room to meet people. If I have room service it's like being home - dining alone.
I am also wandering around the ship so it's easy to pop into the buffet for tea, etc.

Thanks, sounds like a good plan!

Just making sure people had not told you it was awful!

About the only time we use Room Service on any cruise line is for coffee for DH ... and, sometimes for a snack when returning from a mid afternoon shore excursion.

My grandmother and some of her retired teacher friends often took a TA on Cunard when I was a young girl and I promised her I'd sail on one at some point in my life.

Room service is very good. Food and beverage choices are good; always prompt; and they are happy to bring you just wine - lots of it.............!
